Tribute & Message From The Family

Emery Octave Duquette III of Marietta, Georgia passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, May 2nd at the age of 60. Emery was born on May 14th, 1956 in Cranston Rhode Island to Donna Edwards and Emery O. Duquette Jr.
He grew up in Connecticut before settling in Georgia. He worked for the Cobb County Sheriff's Department with devotion for almost 20 years and where he also gained a second family. Besides loving his job, he had a passion and love for sports, in particular the NASCAR racing sport where he would often travel to watch a race and would never miss one on any given Sunday. He loved playing horseshoes and going fishing with his sons as well as being in the outdoors.
He retired from the Cobb County Sheriff's Department last year after nearly 20 years of dedicated service where he took great pride in his work and those he worked with every day. Besides being loyal to his work, his recreational pastimes and hobbies, he was a loving son, brother, father and grandfather who in his final weeks brought together generations of family from all over the country.
Emery is survived by both of his parents, Donna Howard Edwards of Pekin, Indiana and Emery Octave Duquette Jr. of Gibsonville, North Carolina. The eldest of eight siblings he was predeceased by his sister, Donna Moore and his brother Gary Edwards. Emery is survived by his brothers James "Jimmy" Duquette, Chuck "Chucky" Duquette, Larry Duquette and Michael Duquette as well as Gerald "Jerry" Edwards and his sister, Elizabeth Harris. A beloved father and grandfather he is also survived by his sons, Emery Octave Duquette IV of St. Mary's GA, Jason & Misty Duquette of Cartersville GA (as well as their children Autumn, Jeremiah, Skylar, Ethan and David) and his daughter, Renee "Eve" Duquette-Green of Marlborough, CT.
The family would like to thank the wonderful medical staff at the Wellstar Cobb Hospital as well as Emery's family at the Cobb County Sheriff's Department for their kind care and support. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Lung Association at www.lung.org .
