Tribute & Message From The Family

Waple Baity passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the age of 78.

Waple was born in Kingston, Jamaica to Lawrence and Gwendolyn Symes on March 25, 1939. She was the youngest child in large, loving family with five other siblings.

Waple is survived by her daughter, Danielle Grant of Atlanta, Georgia; her eldest sister Clair Symes of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; as well as, friends, numerous nieces and nephews, and other dear relatives.

As a young woman, Waple emigrated from Jamaica to New York City in the early 1960s. She was known as a very diligent worker. Throughout her career, she held various positions in human resources, accounting, and logistics within the retail industry.

Waple loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking, reading, shopping, gardening, and sewing. Waple will be remembered as a loving, considerate, and generous woman. A meek and caring soul, Waple always attempted to see the best in others. Her winsome smile and witty sense of humor brought joy to all those she met.

Although she was not a member of a church at her passing, Waple held a steadfast belief in Jesus Christ and his messages of love and forgiveness.

Waple believed in supporting the less fortunate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Feed the Children — an organization she supported for over forty years.

Memorial services will be held at Southern Cremations & Funerals. The family will receive loved ones for visiting at 11am. A service will follow at 12pm at the same location.

The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to all of those who have offered prayers and support during this difficult time.

When a loved is lost on earth, an angel is gained in heaven to watch over us. Take comfort in knowing that you have an angel to watch over you always.
My deepest condolences to you and your family.

So sorry we are not able to attend in this time of mourning for the loss of aunt Waple. She will truly be missed. She is with God and having fun with the rest of the Symes brood that have gone on before her.
