Tribute & Message From The Family

Jeffrey Keith Berry was born August 3, 1955 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was the 2nd child of Reuben and Lois Berry. He had three brothers and a sister; David and his wife, Toni, Mark and his wife, Vickie, Eric, and Sandy Otto and her husband, Byron . Jeff fell asleep in death on June 20, 2017 at Emory University Hospital, surrounded by family and friends.
Jeff's parents impressed upon him from a young age, the importance of serving Jehovah God. The beauty he saw in creation, and the example of the spiritual man his father was, moved Jeff to dedicate his life to Jehovah in 1969. At 13 years of age, while attending the International Convention in Atlanta, Georgia, Jeff was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He wasted no time engaging in full time service as a minister three years later. Over the 48 years that followed, Jeff took to heart the admonition at 2 Timothy 4:5 to, " do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry". Freely and generously giving of himself, Jeff studied the Bible with many, and was a source of spiritual encouragement for countless others. He served the congregation for many years, and was in the full time service for 13 years.
Second only to his love for Jehovah God, was his love for his wife of 19 years, Kathy. He deeply loved his family and friends, always ready to give of himself. He was the most kindhearted, generous and selfless person you could ever hope to meet! In addition to being a son, a brother, and a husband, Jeff was a step father to his daughter, Heather, and son in law, Sean. Jeff enjoyed time spent with loved ones, whether it was in the back yard by the grill, or enjoying a beautiful day at the beach. He was a skilled craftsman who enjoyed keeping a nice home, or helping others with theirs. He also loved a good joke and enjoyed "pulling your leg"! He had a wonderful sense of humor! Jeff's love of nature and creation could be seen by his affection for his two dogs, Sable and Sasha.
Throughout Jeff's life, including the years of failing health, he held fast to the hope of living in a paradise on earth. He was confident in the Bible's promise at Revelation 21:4, "… he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away". For all of his physical, and spiritual family, Jeff would encourage you to take comfort from the words at Isaiah 41:10, and continue to exert yourself in serving the true God Jehovah, until we meet again in paradise.
Jeff's family would like to thank their dear friends for all of their love and support. (1 Thessalonians 3:7) There will be a memorial service held Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 2:00 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 4850 Ewing Road, Austell, GA 30106.
