Tribute & Message From The Family

Marietta – John Albert Etheridge, III, 62, passed away unexpectedly on November 2, 2017 in hospice following a sudden illness. John will be remembered as a kindhearted, spirted man, whose love and friendship were cherished by all who were blessed to know him.
Preceded in death by his parents, John Albert Etheridge, Jr. and Norma Jean Etheridge of Nashville, TN, and partner of thirty years, Eddie Rush of Laurens, SC, John is survived by his beloved siblings: Deborah Grimes of Nashville, TN, Michelle Patterson (twin) of Savannah, GA, Vanessa Weber (Tim) of Kennesaw, GA, and Don Etheridge of Nashville, TN, his nieces and nephews: Andrea DeJarnette, Lewis Ray Grimes, Matthew Patterson, Danielle McCombes, Trevor Powell, John Cody Grimes, and Taylor-Marie Weber, and his 4 great nieces and 5 great nephews and Carlotta Moss, caretaker.
As an entrepreneur and businessman, John's endeavors led him to Greenville and Columbia, SC and then to Atlanta, GA, where he would eventually call home. Not only did John take pride in his business ventures, he relished each and every friendship made along the way. Throughout his life, John developed passions for technology, cars, music, art, cinema, interior design, and animals. John possessed a certain appreciation for all things beautiful in life, which will be missed, but never forgotten. With his quick-witted quips and ability to ease any tension with a laugh, John's infectious sense of humor brightened the lives of people around him. As a reflection on John's life and the legacy he leaves behind, we invite you to consider the following quote:
Step into my shoes and walk the life I'm living. And if you get as far as I am, just maybe you will see how strong I really am.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in John's name to Open Hand Atlanta, St. Margaret's Home Care/ Lawrenceville, GA.
A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

Mr Etheridge you were an angel you would give the shirt off your back to a total stranger. Many will miss you. The angels have taken you. I will miss you dearly, you never cease to make me laugh even when im angry . You were like a big brother I can confide in. It feels strange not having to stop by your home. To all of John's family... I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I remember a little boy who used to bug Deborah and I all the time. I also remember a sweet and giving heart with a big smile. I am so sorry. Cindi Read
