Tribute & Message From The Family

Betty June (Lathem) Tew entered her Heavenly Home on November 6, 2017. She was a devoted wife and mother. Betty was born in Canton, GA June 15 1931, and moved to Marietta when she married. She resided in Marietta for over 50 years, before moving to live with her daughter Kellie. She was most recently a resident of Assured Assisted Living in Castle Rock, CO, where she was tenderly cared for until her passing. She was a bus driver for the Cobb County School System for 8 years before going to work at Lockheed in the early 80's. Betty retired from Lockheed and went on to travel the world. She never got on a plane until she was 63, but then no one could keep her off of one! Her hobbies were crocheting, sewing, flower gardening, and she was an amazing cook. She also enjoyed and excelled at bowling. Betty was a long time member of Iron Hill Baptist Church, where she played the piano for many years.

Betty will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Kellie Crawford (Michael), Rhonda Tew Fant, and daughter-in-law Lynne Evans Tew. She will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Aaron Tew, Deanna Briscoe (Billy), Steven Crawford, Kristen Crawford, Rebekah Lane ( Wren), great-grandson Bronson Crawford and by her loving brother and sisters, Samuel Lathem (Elsie), Molene Russell and Kathleen Anderson. Betty will also be forever remembered by her numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends. She is predeceased by husband Daniel A. Tew Sr., son Daniel A. Tew, Jr., great grandson Harper Daniel Fant, as well as sister Helen White and brother Grady Lathem.

Services will be held at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta GA with the family receiving visitors from 5p-8p Friday, November 24th, and a Celebration of Betty's life at 3pm Saturday, November 25th. Please wear bright colors!
