Obituary

Elizabeth Jane Brown McCall went to be with the Lord on July 18, 2017. Betty, as she was known, was born March 15, 1934 in Atlanta, Georgia. She met the love of her life, Don McCall, Sr., on a blind date in 1952 and they were married the following year. Don was an MP in the Army and she was quick to tell you he was a "good looking guy".

They had Donna Jane the following year and although they hoped for years for another child, Donny Jr. didn't come along for another 17 years.
Betty had a funny streak and always had something humorous to say. She was up for just about any crazy antic and was most often the instigator of them. She was a lifelong Christian and was active in church in Smyrna and then in Augusta after Don was transferred there in 1978. She was never short on words and was the editor of the church women's newsletter. Betty loved to cook and was quite famous for her fried chicken and desserts. She was a good organizer and took on organizing the Brown Family Reunion for many years. She worked early on as an office clerk and then became a homemaker after Donny's birth.
Betty loved Don dearly and her world was shaken when Don passed away in 1993. She moved back to the Atlanta area to be close to most of her family and was able to be near her most of her grandchildren and later, great grandchildren.

Alzheimer's Disease took its toll on Betty recently but till the end, she still wanted her brownies and donuts.

Betty will be loved and missed by her family and friends. In addition to her two children, Donna and Donny, other family include son-in-law, Ken Livingston; daughter-in-law, Diane McCall; grandchildren Joseph Stewart, Jr., Sarah Stewart, Leigh Stewart Miles, William "Billy" Miles, Jr., David Stewart, Kim Baker Stewart, Lauren Lundy, Griffin McCall, Morgan Elizabeth McCall; great-grandchildren Matthew Stewart, David Ryan Stewart, Savannah Grace Miles, Elizabeth Jane Miles (her namesake) and William H. Miles. There are many other cousins, nephews and nieces who will miss her too.

Pallbearers include Joe Stewart, Jr., David Stewart, William "Billy" Miles, Eric Westbrooks, Carl Brown, and Gene Wigley. Honorary pallbearers include Matthew Stewart, David Ryan Stewart, Griffin McCall, William H. Miles and Danny Brown.
